Astoria Alchemists is a Candle company based in Astoria Queens in New York City.  Founded by two local gays, our candle-making practice is inspired by our love of ritual, the earth, and all things witchy.

 

In our daily life, we use a lot of candles but hate how much waste and environmental harm is produced by commercially made candles. Most commercially made candles are made from paraffin wax which is derived from petroleum.  So we decided to make our own candles which produce less waste, burn cleanly, and have a minimal environmental impact. Our candles are 100% all-natural local beeswax with a cotton wick and that's it! Our candle production methods produce no landfill waste, we recycle or compost all anything that doesn't make it into our final product.
